Black Aluminum Cast Edges consists of four distinct sand-cast parts, each resembling a fragmented corners of a cube. The discontinued forms, suggest an incomplete enclosure, caught between the potential to become a fully realized cube and the impression of a structure dissolving or eroding. Originating from the loom, the cast aluminum retains the imprint of the woven surface, as well as the absence in areas where the weaving is interrupted, translating its essence into a material that gestures toward permanence while embodying impermanence. Through its fragmented geometry, Black Aluminum Cast Edges offers a meditation on perception, enclosure, and the shifting nature of form.
